Let's Celebrate
My hubby works for Young Life - a truly amazing and life-changing ministry. We have loved being a part of God's work through this ministry since we were in high school. Every now and then I get the privilege of designing materials for Bryan, and one such occasion was the Young Life banquet we held this past Monday. It was a celebration of Young Life being active in Albany for 20 years! So we wanted the printed materials to be fun, bright, colorful and celebratory. Below is the save the date, invitation, and program. The banquet turned out so great and was a fun night to look back and celebrate all that the Lord has accomplished these past 20 years, and pray that he will continue to work through Young Life in the lives of teenagers in Albany for many more years!

Make it Cute
It is always fun when I am asked to design some stationery, and I am just told "make it cute." Those are some of my favorite kinds of orders, because I get to do whatever I want! My sister and I have both been cranking out the thank you notes since having babies, and my sister wanted something new and cute for her notes. So I made these folded notes! I think they are really fun and cheerful!
Customize these notes with your name and get a pack of 12 for $18! Great to give as gifts too!

Happy Valentines Day
I have every intention of designing some SUPER cute Valentines, not only to offer up to anyone interested in purchasing them, but to send out myself. Well, lets face it - it just didn't happen. I'm still getting the hang of this working while mommy-ing thing. And lets face it again - James is my top priority. So sorry to all you lovebirds out there, you won't be getting a valentine from me. But I love you anyway... its the thought that counts, right??
Well I had started to design something for Valentines day a few weeks ago and just never got around to finishing it up, printing, and sending. But I'll share it on here anyway for you to get the idea. I wanted to print on kraft paper and seal up in a pretty red envelope. Again, the thought that counts. I really enjoy Mumford & Sons' music and lyrics so I took some lyrics from their song "Sigh No More."
So lets just pretend you opened this up in the mail and thought "That Meredith, thinking ahead and sending out Valentines. Isn't she sweet?"
The good news is that with Valentines day sneaking up on me, it inspired me on a new project that I hope to work on and reveal to the blog world in the next couple of weeks - so be on the look out! In the meantime, go squeeze someone you love and enjoy some chocolates. I know I will.
"This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." 1 John 4:10

Fun with Patterns
I love designing flat notecards because they allow for a lot of fun with the back side. I recently customized the below notecards for a new client and was excited to have a different back on each of the 12 cards in the set. In the front design, each piece of the banner has a different pattern, so I just enlarged those patterns and used each on the back sides. I think it adds a really fun element to the notecards!
These and other flat notecards are easy to customize with your name and the colors of your choice. Order a set of 12 for $18!

Introducing...
Hello blog world! It seems as though the best way to keep up-to-date with what's going on at Meredith Elder Design is with a blog - so here I am! I've kept a personal blog for years, so it will hopefully be a natural transition to start blogging from a "professional" standpoint. I am excited to post my latest designs on the blog, along with anything else design-related that I find interesting! So keep checking in to see what's happening!
The title of this post serves a double-meaning, because the design I want to feature today is the New Years card and birth announcement I designed for our baby boy! So not only am I introducing my blog, but more importantly, introducing my sweet baby! We had James 6 weeks ago (time flies!) and as I am starting to get back into working-mode, my day-to-day life has a whole new look to it. Of course it revolves around my family and the newest little addition, but while he naps, I'm off to work! I am so incredibly thankful that my office is located one room over from the nursery :)
I had this design ready to go long before James was actually born. In fact, it was originally done in red and green and was a Christmas card and birth announcement. I figured since he was due to be born on December 12, I'd be able to get them out in time for Christmas. Well, our boy was already letting us know that he has a mind of his own, and he didn't come until the 21st! Thus the Christmas card became a New Years card... and was sent out in mid-January (people are still celebrating the New Year all January, right?!) Anyway, I was thrilled with how it turned out. It features pictures we had taken by the wonderful K&R Photography here in Albany.
